Beautiful Pots Made by Blasting Music Below a 3D Printer

Think of it as a way to 3d print a song. 

Olivier Van Herpt, a Dutch ceramics artist, worked with Ricky van Broekhoven, a sound designer to develop this novel interpretation of music. They call their project Solid Vibrations.

The build platform of the 3d printer rests over a speaker. As music plays, it shakes the build in progress so that the imperfections in the laying of material match the sounds. You can see and feel the music in the finished ceramic pots.
